The public and artists unite against controversial proposals to axe BBC Radio 6 Music

To celebrate Social Media Week this week, I have decided to write a blog on how social media has affected the music industry. Over the past 10 years, music has become increasingly accessible. This began with the digitalisation of music, spurring illegal download and file sharing sites, such as Napster. This is a problem that has, to this date, not been overcome. The reasons for this are the music industry’s distinct inability to innovate, and to instead choose to resist the digital era. However, these ramblings shall be reserved for a later rant (I mean, erm, blog).
